Audi TT MK1
Is there really anyone interested in automobiles who hasn't yet heard of Audi? The German car manufacturer has come a very long way since its creation over 102 years ago. Over time, Audi became recognized as one of the best car manufacturers in the whole world, always providing reliable and high-performance vehicles. Throughout the years they have released some of the world's most praised sports cars, which certainly do more than pass the test of time.
Take for example the Audi TT Mk1. The production model of this car was launched in 1998 as a Coupe, after which it was launched as a Roadster the year after. One of the car's main trademarks and selling points when it came out was the speed which it was able to achieve⦠so much in fact that the first reports in regards to the Audi TT Mk1 were actually those of various accidents, some of which fatal, all of which occurred at speeds in excess of 180 kilometers per hour on the highway. When it comes down to numbers, the speed of the Audi TT Mk1 is electronically limited to 209 km/hr, and if you need more than that, then perhaps you should try flying a plane or illegal street racing. It can also accelerate all the way to 100 km/hr in only 5.5 seconds.
As mentioned before, the Audi TT Mk1 became famous first and foremost because it cost the lives of many people on the highway. As you can imagine, in this day and age people would be hard-pressed to let that fly by, and thus the cars have been recalled in order to improve the handling of the car. As such, today the car features a transversely mounted internal combustion engine combined with front-wheel drive (you can also go for the all-wheel drive option, but it will be more expensive). The tires are standardized to a size of 9J x 18 and are of the 5-V Spoke Design. They have a speed rating of H and a load index of 93.
When it comes to the handling the suspension provides the driver with electromechanical steering and speed-dependent power assistance, with a steering ratio of 16:9:1. The brake system, perhaps one of the most important features when it comes to safety (cutting the brakes on someone's car is a classic murder scheme which seems to almost work every time) is one of the best you can find on the Audi TT Mk1, being Dual Circuit with Diagonal Spilt, ABS, EBD and ESP.
Finally, regardless of how powerful your car may be, it will become obsolete if it cannot use its fuel effectively and allow you to transport enough luggage. Well, the Audi TT Mk1 cars have a fuel capacity of 60 L, and a luggage capacity of 371 L. When it comes to the fuel consumption every 100km, in the city on average 9.1 liters are consumed while on the highway only 6.4 liters are used on average.
